Joe is a practice and community-focused professional with strengths in consensus building with academia, government agencies, for profit, non-profit, veteran, and faith-based community partners. Subject matter expertise in public health, healthcare / behavioral health integration; community engagement, community design, opioid crisis / addiction recovery, suicide prevention outreach; and neighborhood revitalization. Worked on projects primarily with the veterans, first responders and active duty populations on these issues. Role for Touchcast Consulting is client relations and delivery of Management Consulting Services.

 

Other Experience

• Academia Administration: 8+ years in academia (University of South Florida, College of Public Health) as an assistant/associate professor with administrative rolls in community engagement and deputy doctoral program administration.

• Academia Teaching: Taught courses for University of South Florida, College of Public Health in community program planning, theory to practice, and critical issues of gun control, immigration laws and marijuana laws to help students understand state variation and federal policies.

• Academia Teaching: Created a new course on Business Planning for Healthcare initiatives for the UofL College of Business.

• Board Operations: Served on boards of directors for UofL MBA Association (2000 and 2006), Tampa Jaycees (2002-2005), National Association of Mental Illness (NAMI) Pinellas Chapter (2019-2020), Tampa Area YMCA branch (2019), and Central Florida Behavioral Health Network (2021).

• Outreach Focus: Worked with the veteran’s, faith-based and behavioral health community partners on the opioid crisis and suicide prevention outreach across three counties.

• Early Career: Six years as an entrepreneur technical writing consultant (KMI Communications, LLC), 3+ years as an analyst for a regional health network, five years in DoD business development, six years in budgeting and congressional affairs for US Navy in Louisville, KY, three years in shipping and logistics.
